Thursday: HoT closed before I got there. V. sad. Guy said they ran out of toppings anyway.
Friday: Wheat toast with hummus, garlic, and tomato. Mmmmm.
Saturday: White toast with Nutella, Cap'n Crunch, and sprinkles. Also mmmmmm.
Also Saturday: White toast with cheesy artichoke topping. Say it with me: mmmmmm.

Ran out of toppings??!? Let me assure you that such thing would never happen at the House of Toast. We donate many toppings to consuite every year after we close up. We do need to close a bit early while our people are still sober enough to put things in fridges and wipe counters without hurting themselves.
ReplyDeleteOh, the BITTER irony!! this is too terrible. But of course, there IS nothing to prevent having our very own House of Toasts....or, you know, Houses of Toast. You're doing pretty well on your own. Seems almost silly, though, to add anything to Nutella on toast. Here's a couple other highly yummified possibilities: cream-cheese-and-minced-olive (either green or black, maybe with sunflower seeds) or almond butter and honey.....banana?)
ReplyDeleteSorry, Footzilla... all I know is that the poor fellow whose job it was to explain to drunk people that the door was closed for a reason, told me that a number of toppings had been run out of. It made me sad, but he assured me that the situation would be rectified as soon as someone with keys was sober.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, thanks to the magic of HoT, so it was!
"Cheesy artichoke topping"?
ReplyDeleteIt has always seemed to me the artichoke is nothing more than a binder for the cheese, and isn't really needed at all...
I think people think it is healthier because a vegetable is involved...but I seriously doubt it.
